Buko Developer Docs
Welcome to the Buko developer documentation.
Developer access: Bot availability depends on the target service and the
bot's access settings. Request access and a bot token from the Buko
team at support@buko.app before integrating.
Publishing this guide does not enable Bot access for every account or app
release. Native Kit development remains a private, reviewed preview.
Buko is a private messenger. Developer APIs are intentionally narrow: Buko provides the messaging channel, identity, delivery, permissions, and quotas. Your agent or service provides the actual intelligence and business logic.
Available APIs
- Third-party Account Sign-in guide covers identity-only login, Web popup and native App flows, PKCE, ID token verification and application review. Manage applications.
- Bot API single-page guide covers authentication, receiving updates, messages, attachments, buttons, and runnable starter examples.
- WebView Kit Development covers building a web app that opens inside Buko: creating the Kit in the Developer Console, web settings, the JavaScript bridge, capabilities, testing and review. Manage Kits.
- Native Kit Development defines the source, capability, server, platform, security, and testing contract for reviewed native Kit modules compiled into the app. Native Kits remain a private Preview for official modules and approved source-review partners.

Bot API preview
After the Buko team provisions your bot, verify the token with getMe. Use tokens only with the service that issued them; accounts and tokens are not shared between products.
export BUKO_BOT_TOKEN="bot_xxx"
curl -sS https://ims.buko.app/bot/getMe \
-X POST \
-H "Authorization: Bot $BUKO_BOT_TOKEN" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json"
Then use either Bot Gateway WebSocket for realtime updates or polling for simple deployments.
Kits in one minute
A WebView Kit is your own HTTPS web app, opened inside Buko in an isolated container. Create it in the Developer Console, test it with your own account, and submit it for review; people find it by its @handle. Start with WebView Kit Development.
A native Kit is a reviewed local Dart package under kits/. It implements the small KitModule contract, declares the platforms it has actually tested, and uses only host-provided capabilities through KitContext. The server catalog can narrow visibility or disable a Kit, but it cannot download code or enable a platform omitted by the compiled package.
Read the complete Native Kit Development guide before creating a native module.
